Raindrop Letters and Numbers FREEBIE

Thursday, April 4, 2019
I wanted to share this month's letters and numbers cards with you!

Sticking with April's theme of "April Showers" I made raindrop cards.

I added a fun recording sheet, too!  When your kiddos find a card they will color the cloud that matches it!

Basketball Centers

Monday, April 1, 2019
There seems to be a running theme on here lately...basketball!
It is that time of year where the teams have been knocked out and there are only a couple games before the big championship game!

Whether you are a basketball fan or not, these centers will be a great addition to your math centers.
The first one is a number matching center.

Your kiddos match the number word with the number.  I added pom poms to practice one to one correspondence too!

The next one I used number cards.  Your kiddos pick two cards and add them together.  They can use the "basketballs" to help them solve.  Add a dry erase board or recording sheet to record their equations and answers.

I also included number cards with matching number of basketballs.  This is a great way for your kiddos to practice adding on.  Your kiddos pick a basketball number card and a plain number card then add them together.

Finally, I have a fun add the room.  You can put this in a center or hang them around the room.  Your kiddos solve the addition problems.

Number Match Hearts

Tuesday, January 29, 2019
I have an EASY math center for you today!  Yes, it is perfect for the whole month of February or really any time of year!

I found these foam hearts from Target a few years back, but I am sure you could find them anywhere this time of year.
I wrote a number and the matching number of hearts.
Your kiddos can count and put different objects on each hear to match that number.
For more of a challenge, you can have your kiddos pick two hearts and add them together!

Gingerbread Roll and Color

Monday, December 3, 2018
We are still going strong on our gingerbread themed activities!

Today, we did a fun roll and color activity!  We have done these before where we color after we roll, but I wanted to reuse them as many times as I could so I laminated the worksheet!

Then, we used pom poms to cover each number after we rolled our dice.

I have included another sheet that is roll and trace.  Your kiddos will roll and trace the number they get.

The First Few Days of School

Friday, August 17, 2018
Those first few days of school are always a blur in kindergarten.  Did everyone eat and make it home?
I wanted to show you some EASY activities your kiddos can do while you get beginning of the day things together or a great way to practice your routines and rituals.  You could put these in a "center" and practice what a center looks like.  These would be great to use while you are practicing of cleaning up.  Play for a few or 10 minutes and then practice picking up quickly and quietly.

This is a simple bird sorting activity.  Any color sorting activity should be easy for all students and if it is not, pair up students to work together on it!

These number matching cows are great because any academic level can do them.  They can be matched by color OR they can be matched by number/number of spots.

My son got these books for Christmas one year, but of course they would be perfect in the classroom!  Each book can be read to your kiddos by pushing the buttons on the Me Reader.  Each page is color coded with a shape, so they will know what button to push!

Finally, a good old box of blocks!  This is open ended and lets your kiddos explore.  You could give them a certain number of blocks and tell them to create something or just let them run wild!

Snowman Buttons

Thursday, January 15, 2015
I have a fun and easy to create math center!
I made a handful of big snowmen and about 20 hats. Each hat had a number on it.  This is where those buttons will come in.
My kiddos would pick a hat and put it on their snowman.

Then, they counted out button to match their number.
The hats also could have addition or subtraction problems on top and then the kiddos will have to show the answer with their buttons.

Curdled Milk

Thursday, October 9, 2014
You are probably thinking-curdled milk?  But yes, curdled milk.  It started yesterday with a sewer smell in the classroom, which caused our class to join another class for the afternoon.  We learned the smell was all the milk getting dumped down our sinks during breakfast was sitting in our ancient pipes and rotting.  Are you grossed out yet?
Luckily, we only spent the morning in the other kinder classroom before we were able to breathe in our classroom again.
I wish I had amazing things from our classroom, but it sat empty the past two days.  I DO have a freebie for you though!
Apple Number Sheets!  These cover numbers 1-10!  Click HERE or on one of the pictures to grab yours!
