Flower Bead Counters

Spring is here and I have a fun spring themed math center for you!

This center has your kiddos identifying numbers, one to one correspondence, and counting!

I took pipe cleaners and beads, then added a cute flower number on the top!

Your kiddos will identify the number that add that many beads to the "stem"!

This activity includes numbers 1-20.

Math Center Freebie

Students pick a card, count, and record the numbers.  This center focuses on numbers 1-10. 

For more of a challenge, you could have your kiddos pick two cards, add the numbers together, and write an equation each time.

Number Match Hearts

I have an EASY math center for you today!  Yes, it is perfect for the whole month of February or really any time of year!

I found these foam hearts from Target a few years back, but I am sure you could find them anywhere this time of year.
I wrote a number and the matching number of hearts.
Your kiddos can count and put different objects on each hear to match that number.
For more of a challenge, you can have your kiddos pick two hearts and add them together!

Toddler Tuesday {Preschool Ideas} Week12

I wanted to share a fun winter themed math activity with you!
I printed out these number mittens and add the to a bin with white pom poms and a tweezers.
Your kiddos pull out a mitten and use their tweezers to match the snowballs to the number on the mitten.

To challenge students, pull out two mittens and have your kiddos add the numbers together!

Gingerbread Buttons

We started some gingerbread activities this week!  I wanted to share a fun number activity that we did!

We took these gingerbread number cards I made and used buttons to decorate our gingerbread!

We also used chocolate chips one day because in one of the stories we read, he had chocolate chips
for buttons! 

Anything with food is always way more fun!

We also put the cards in number order as we were putting his buttons on!

Toddler Tuesday {Preschool Activities} Week 3

Week 3 is all about sensory bins!

I picked up assorted beans at the store along with some plastic spider rings and put them in a plastic storage container.

I let the little guy scoop the beans first.  Then, I had him find all the spiders in the container.  At first we just put them in a pile, then I had him match one spider to a ten frame mat.

 I didn't tell him what it was, but just showed him how to organize his spiders.
This was a fun activity for one to one correspondence, but still allowed for play :)

For extra name practice, I added in some pumpkin letters for him to find and then spell his name.  He would find the letters and then I would help him put it in order.

Toddler Tuesday {Preschool Activities} Week 2

I'm making an effort to post a fun preschool activity every week and we are on week 2!  I'm celebrating the small victories :)

Today, I have a fun counting, number match, and fine motor activity for you with a Halloween theme!
I made these number circles with matching number of objects. 

Your little one will take clothespins and put one clothespin over each candy corn piece. 
We counted as we put on each clothespin until we had covered up each candy corn.
These are great because it encourages counting and gives them a visual of the number, too!  Plus, they are working on their fine motor by pinching open the clothespin.

Snowman Buttons

I have a fun and easy to create math center!

I made a handful of big snowmen and about 20 hats. Each hat had a number on it.  This is where those buttons will come in.

My kiddos would pick a hat and put it on their snowman.  

Then, they counted out button to match their number.

The hats also could have addition or subtraction problems on top and then the kiddos will have to show the answer with their buttons.

Counting Leaves~Math Activity FREEBIE

Fall is here which means cooler temps and changing leaves!  However, we are in some weird heat wave so our "cooler weather" right now is actually 85 degrees...
I bought some foam leaf stickers from the Dollar Tree last year and did a fun word problem activity.  Now that I am back in kinder I was on a hunt for those leaves again and SURPRISE they were back at the Dollar Tree!
Here is what we did with them!  Each kiddo got their own tree to color.

Once they had their tree all colored I gave them a random amount of leaves.  

They stuck the leaves wherever they wanted on or around their tree.

When they were done they traced the bottom sentence and filled in the blank with the number of leaves they were given.
