Toddler Tuesday {Preschool Ideas} Week 11

Tuesday, January 8, 2019

It has been awhile since I shared some new ideas for you preschool classroom!
This one is a fun winter shape one!
I cut squares out of white paper and had my kiddo glue the squares in a circle on a piece of construction paper.

Once we had a "circle" we glued an orange triangle in the middle.
We added big circles for yes and smaller circles for the mouth!

Add rectangles for their arms and you've made the cutest snowman!
For older kiddos, you could add a writing piece and have them write about what happened that made their snowman melt.
A great book to add to this project would be "Snowmen at Night".

Five for Friday

Friday, January 30, 2015
It has been awhile since I have linked up!

The diagnosis: STREP!  Ugh!  I am finally feeling a little better!

I created this fun syllable game during my prep one day.  In honor of "The Big Game", I cut out footballs and wrote words on each one.  Then I made goal posts.  I put numbers on each one.  We went around the circle picking a football, reading the word, and counting the syllables.  We would put the football by the correct number and cheer after each turn.
If I had to change one thing about this activity, I would of made more goal posts and put one number on each number!

We are doing our FOSS Fabric unit in science.  Here we are weaving.  Simple and so engaging! :)

I posted this on my Instagram.  We are in our measuring unit and we all traced our shoes to measure.

I think I posted this on my Facebook or Instagram last week, but wanted to share it here!  I made a this sheet and had my kiddos cut out buttons to create a addition equation.  This little one got really into it :)

What were you up to this week?!
Stop by tomorrow for a fun little giveaway! :)

Snowman Names

Wednesday, January 9, 2013
I found this cute activity on Pinterest where the kiddos make snowmen using their names!  Here is the pin!  My kinders had so much fun!  I whipped up a worksheet to go with this because I think I needed to add a little more to the activity!  Check it out!

Adorable right!?

Snowman Write the Room

Tuesday, December 18, 2012
Two days done and three more to go!  Tomorrow is an early release day too!  My kiddos love Write the Room activities.  Today, I used an activity from my Let It Snow pack!  The word SNOWMAN was written down the sheet and my little ones walked around the room to find words that started with each letter! Check it out!

Another activity we did was practicing reading number words.  I started by writing all the number words one through twelve on the board and together we read the words and wrote the number.  Then, my kiddos read each number word and drew snowmen to match!  This is also in my Let It Snow Pack!  I copied it back to back so we could do one through twelve all at once! :)

Don't forget to link up! :)

Snowmen at Night

Wednesday, November 28, 2012
I keep seeing Pinterest activities that go with the book 'Snowmen at Night' and I keep thinking what is this book I need to see what it is all about!  I google it and what do you know...I HAVE this book already.  Ok, you are probably thinking, "Huh? How does that work?"  Well, a year after I graduated college one of our family friends was retiring from teaching and was selling all of her stuff!  My family went to her house and bought like ALL of it, so I am still going through these supplies a year later!  Today we had an early release day so I planned on making it 'Snowmen at Night' themed day!  Before we found out what the snowmen do at night we guessed what they might do and made a chart.  After the book, we wrote down what they really did.  The kiddos LOVED this book!  Seriously, if you haven't read it yet you need to! :)  Once we discussed the book we wrote about what our snowman would do at night and drew a picture!

Before we left for the day we started our snowman paintings but you will have to wait to see these cute pieces of work until tomorrow! :)

Here is a picture of the stuff I got from that retired teacher!  A teacher's dream?!
