Five for Friday

Friday, January 30, 2015
It has been awhile since I have linked up!

The diagnosis: STREP!  Ugh!  I am finally feeling a little better!

I created this fun syllable game during my prep one day.  In honor of "The Big Game", I cut out footballs and wrote words on each one.  Then I made goal posts.  I put numbers on each one.  We went around the circle picking a football, reading the word, and counting the syllables.  We would put the football by the correct number and cheer after each turn.
If I had to change one thing about this activity, I would of made more goal posts and put one number on each number!

We are doing our FOSS Fabric unit in science.  Here we are weaving.  Simple and so engaging! :)

I posted this on my Instagram.  We are in our measuring unit and we all traced our shoes to measure.

I think I posted this on my Facebook or Instagram last week, but wanted to share it here!  I made a this sheet and had my kiddos cut out buttons to create a addition equation.  This little one got really into it :)

What were you up to this week?!
Stop by tomorrow for a fun little giveaway! :)

Feeling like Spring...FINALLY

Tuesday, April 8, 2014
It is finally feeling like spring here!  Tomorrow it will be in the 70's!  My kiddos are already convinced it is "so hot" out, tomorrow will feel like summer!  Is this sad?  haha!
I have pulled out the spring stuff.  It felt weird to do spring stuff when there was a foot of snow falling from the sky last week!
We used a sheet from my Print and Learn: April to practice our measuring using non-standard units.  We completed this sheet and then measured things around the room using our rain drop rulers

Yesterday, we also used this fun sheet from Freebielicious!  The fabulous Mel D. from Seusstastic Classroom Inspirations!

I thought this was funny because it literally snowed one day over spring break and then all melted by the end of they day.  This little guy was pumped and very observant of that :)

The Mitten Freebie

Friday, December 14, 2012
Friday!  I hope everyone is preparing for one final week of school before break or if this was your final week ...You made it! :)  Enjoy!  I created a freebie that goes along with the book, The Mitten by Jan Brett.  We are working on measuring in math, so I made a worksheet that compares the lengths of different characters in the book!  It is very basic but can be adapted to where your kids are at by having students who are at a higher level use rulers to measure each object! Grab your freebie here!

If you are loving this freebie, check out the pack I made- The Mitten Activity Pack.  This is a great pack of activities to go along with The Mitten.
