Toddler Tuesday {Preschool Ideas} Week12

Monday, January 14, 2019
I wanted to share a fun winter themed math activity with you!
I printed out these number mittens and add the to a bin with white pom poms and a tweezers.
Your kiddos pull out a mitten and use their tweezers to match the snowballs to the number on the mitten.

To challenge students, pull out two mittens and have your kiddos add the numbers together!
Grab the number mittens HERE!

Toddler Tuesday {Preschool Ideas} Week 11

Tuesday, January 8, 2019

It has been awhile since I shared some new ideas for you preschool classroom!
This one is a fun winter shape one!
I cut squares out of white paper and had my kiddo glue the squares in a circle on a piece of construction paper.

Once we had a "circle" we glued an orange triangle in the middle.
We added big circles for yes and smaller circles for the mouth!

Add rectangles for their arms and you've made the cutest snowman!
For older kiddos, you could add a writing piece and have them write about what happened that made their snowman melt.
A great book to add to this project would be "Snowmen at Night".

Winter Writing Center

Monday, January 19, 2015
My writing center needed an upgrade, so I created this Winter Writing Center Activities pack!

There are a variety worksheets and word cards to use with a winter theme!
My kiddos really loved the Read, Trace, Write, and Build sheets!
These sheets are perfect because they can be completed independently.  I mixed the sentence up on the bottom, to promote a little reading.  I did have one kiddo put it in the same order they cut it out in...there is always one :)

There are also 10 word cards.  These can be put in your writing center and used in many different ways.  Students can pull out a word and create a sentence using that word, students can write or trace each word, OR throw in some letter beads and they can build the word!
There are 4 writing prompts included in 3 different levels!  There is a fill in the blank sheet, a tracing sheet, and a sheet with one question that would be fully written out on their own.

I have also included a journal cover with writing pages in two different levels.

I would LOVE to give a copy away!
To win:
1. PIN any picture in this post
2.  COMMENT with your email
3.  GOOD LUCK!
Giveaway over!! :)  Congrats Sara and Brittany

Snowman Buttons

Thursday, January 15, 2015
I have a fun and easy to create math center!
I made a handful of big snowmen and about 20 hats. Each hat had a number on it.  This is where those buttons will come in.
My kiddos would pick a hat and put it on their snowman.

Then, they counted out button to match their number.
The hats also could have addition or subtraction problems on top and then the kiddos will have to show the answer with their buttons.

We are practicing our beginning sounds!

Take Me Back Tuesday

Tuesday, November 26, 2013
Thanksgiving break has officially started!  I'm linking up again with Hope, from Second Grade Shenanigans, for her Take Me Back Tuesday linky!  So glad my blogging life just got easier tonight! :)  Check out this MUST do activity!  Perfect for winter! :)

I keep seeing Pinterest activities that go with the book 'Snowmen at Night' and I keep thinking what is this book I need to see what it is all about!  I Google it and what do you know...I HAVE this book already.  Ok, you are probably thinking, "Huh? How does that work?"  Well, a year after I graduated college one of our family friends was retiring from teaching and was selling all of her stuff!  My family went to her house and bought like ALL of it, so I am still going through these supplies a year later!  Today we had an early release day so I planned on making it 'Snowmen at Night' themed day!  Before we found out what the snowmen do at night we guessed what they might do and made a chart.  After the book, we wrote down what they really did.  The kiddos LOVED this book!  Seriously, if you haven't read it yet you need to! :)  Once we discussed the book we wrote about what our snowman would do at night and drew a picture!

Before we left for the day we started our snowman paintings but you will have to wait to see these cute pieces of work until tomorrow! :)

Here is a picture of the stuff I got from that retired teacher!  A teacher's dream?!

Brr! It is only 6 degrees here today!  Yes 6!!  Windchill of -11!!  I was going to blog about my new Love Monster packs but winter is in full force today, so I want to show you a fun word family activity found in my Let It Snow Winter Pack.  I put these mats in my Word Work center and my kiddos always go for this activity first!

My good friend, Irene from Learning with Mrs. Leeby is having a 200 follower giveaway!  Seriously, she is giving away the BEST prizes!!  Check it out!

Snowman Names

Wednesday, January 9, 2013
I found this cute activity on Pinterest where the kiddos make snowmen using their names!  Here is the pin!  My kinders had so much fun!  I whipped up a worksheet to go with this because I think I needed to add a little more to the activity!  Check it out!

Winter ABC Order

Monday, January 7, 2013
Today was our first day back from Winter Break and it surprisingly went great! We all fell right into routine and it felt like we were just gone for the weekend not 2 whole weeks!  We have our testing coming up so we are currently working on ABC order!  It can be a little tough for some, but we talk it through and work through each order together!  Today we did a winter themed ABC order using cards from my Let it Snow! pack and an ABC order worksheet from the same pack!
We started by putting our winter cards in order.  I didn't get a picture of us doing this but here are what the cards look like! :)

After we put all the cards together we did our ABC Order Worksheet!  My kiddos did such a good job doing this! :)

Only a few more days left!  Don't forget to enter! :)

Winter Themed Beginning Sound Match

Saturday, January 5, 2013
I never posted this before break, but I figured with winter break coming to an end it would be a perfect review for your kiddos when they return back to school!  I extended the activity by having my kiddos sound spell the words first.  They had such a fun time doing this and were so proud to show me their work.  I realized I never took a picture of the final product, but you get the idea! :)  You can find this and tons of other winter themed activities in my Let It Snow! Activity Pack
