13 in 13 Linky Party

Friday, December 27, 2013

It has been too long since I have posted anything!  I was spending my time with family and friends and loving every minute of it!  I am linking up with A Teeny Tiny Teacher, Miss Kindergarten, and Dragonflies in First for their 3rd annual linky!

I have to copy Kristin and say LEGGINGS!  They are my best friend even if my hubby tries to convince me they make me look like I don't have pants on.  I found the best leggings while shopping at the Gap Outlet!  They are thick, comfy, and perfect!  In one day I had 2 teachers come up and ask where I got them!
Stretch knit leggings
Not a movie person, BUT I did go see Anchorman 2 with they hubby last week!  Random fact-this was the first movie we have EVER gone to together...weird!

I LOVE Pretty Little Liars!  It is coming back Jan. 7th!  Can't wait! :)
Obsessed with their burrito bowls.
Honestly, I tired it the day before Winter Break.  I wanted to see how my kiddos would like it, so we tried it on the craziest day of school.  I am happy to report my kiddos LOVED it!  They were so good.  They heard the noise and immediately changed their behavior if they were off task.  I showed our behavior support it and he seemed impressed by it too!
I can't pick a favorite!
I think I have already blogged about this pin, but they were so good!
S'more Croissants
Dino Dig! I remember doing this when I was in school and my kiddos loved it just as much as I did!
Teaching in a new district and getting in the top 10 Free downloads...TWICE! :)
My Favorite Picture and Memory go together.  The hubby and I took a trip to Mexico for our One Year Anniversary!
Like last year, read more books for fun and comment on more blogs.
Fun

Five for Friday!

Saturday, December 21, 2013
Sorry, I could not even think about school or blogging after school yesterday.  After sleep and a 2 week break ahead of me I am ready to show you our week!
I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for her Five for Friday linky!
1.CleanSmart Hand Sanitizer
I am doing a giveaway with CleanSmart and giving away 2 bottles of their ALCOHOL FREE hand sanitizer!

2.
We did a fun gingerbread glyph and then rewrote the ending to "The Gingerbread Man".  My kiddos loved it!  A popular ending was the gingerbread and the fox became friends.
3.
Our cute snowman cards and parent gift!  I got the snowman ornament from Target.  I added the ribbon to make it into an ornament.
4.
We read this:
And then went on a "Snowflake Adventure" around the room.
I used my Snowy Subtraction freebie and taped up the cards around the room.
5.
Friday was our "Polar Express Day"!  This deserves its own post, but here is a sneak peek of our hot chocolate graph!

I hope everyone enjoys their winter break! :)

Alcohol-Free Hand Sanitizer...Say What!?

Tuesday, December 17, 2013
You heard right!  I was contacted by CleanSmart to review their Alcohol-Free hand sanitzer!  After researching a little, I found out they are a small business from MN!  Sign me up!
CleanSmart Hand Sanitizer

Now let me tell you how amazing this stuff is!  We all know alcohol will not freeze, right?  Well, MN is experiencing some very cold temps and when I pulled my bottles out of the box they were frozen!  They are not lying about this alcohol free stuff!

Now think about all that sanitizer you have at school.  You get a squirt and you can feel your hands getting drier and drier as you are rubbing it in.  This does not happen with CleanSmart!  It feels amazing and does not have that alcohol smell like other sanitizers!
What about those pesky paper cuts?  You know that feeling when you get that sanitzer in a paper cut?  We ALL know that feeling! It happened to me today after I used a fellow teacher's sanitizer. PAIN!  This will not happen with CleanSmart!
I love this stuff and I hope you check it out for yourself!
Don't leave yet!  They sent me two hand sanitizer sprays and two hand sanitzer gels.  That means I will be giving away a gel and a spray to one lucky winner!

Remembering Sandy Hook

Saturday, December 14, 2013

As educators, we remember and honor our fallen colleagues and their students from Sandy Hook School.  We honor them each day in our classrooms in which we continue their dream of teaching our children.  We honor their memory with our service.  Join with teachers everywhere in committing random acts of kindness to show our love for Sandy Hook.

Five for Friday

1.  Irene and I are hosting a fun giveaway!  Check it out!

2.
Our Random Acts of Kindness this week!  We made cards and handed out candy canes to teachers.  We also brought our janitors some yummy treats for all their hard work during our crazy snowy weather!
3.
We made these mini posters at the beginning of our shapes unit.  This week we matched 3D faces to the posters.  Each kiddo got a card with a shape, they had to find that shape, and match it to the correct poster.
4.
Each kiddo got a tack and a paper.  I called out a shape and they poked that shape.  Obviously, we have used tacks before and went through LOTS of expectations like don't poke friends :)
5.
My school got a grant and every 1st and 2nd grade class got to spend $7,000 on their classroom...yes $7,000!  Basically, if I left my classroom it will have EVERYTHING you need in it for the next teacher.   So...if I leave my classroom I have to say goodbye to all my goodies.  But I don't plan on leaving....ever haha!
I spent lots at Really Good Stuff.  This is one of the things I got.  A "Read It, Build It, Write It" activity.  We did these today and my kids LOVED it!

Christmas Questionnaire Linky

Wednesday, December 11, 2013

I am linking up with Fabulous in First for this fun Christmas linky!

Hot Chocolate or Eggnog?
Hot chocolate!!  I have never had eggnog, but the name makes me think I am drinking raw eggs.  No thanks!

Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them underneath the tree?
Always wrapped!!  Isn't the whole excitement
Colored lights or white?
Colored lights!  I think white lights are too formal...does that make sense?

When do you decorate?
As soon as as possible!  Usually that happens after Thanksgiving!

Real or Fake Tree?
Real!  Last year we went to two tree farms before we found our "perfect" tree.  :)  For the record, the first tree farm didn't have any tress over 4 feet tall...

What Tops Your Tree?
A giant sparkly star! :)

Favorite Christmas Memories or Traditions?
Cinnamon rolls!  Seriously, EVERY Christmas morning my mom makes cinnamon rolls and we listen to Christmas music as we open presents!

Do prefer giving or receiving?
Giving!  I love shopping and finding those "perfect" gifts!

What is your favorite Christmas song?
All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey!

Candy Canes. Yuck or Yum?
Hmm...Yum.  I don hate them.

Favorite Christmas Movie?
ELF!  So funny!
Do you shop online or at stores?
Both! I think it depends on what it is I need.  I am a Black Friday shopper not a Cyber Monday shopper ;)
