Oriental Trading Wish List!

Thursday, August 18, 2016

I know you all know about how great Oriental Trading is.  They have everything you need to plan the perfect party AND they have lots of teacher supplies.  They contacted me about their new wish list feature on their website.  I jumped right in creating my OWN wish list.  I was able to add anything from treasure box toys to paints.  The great thing about this feature is you are able to share the link with families on your class website and they can shop your wish list!  I know I sometimes struggle thinking of things to add to our donation list (I know-crazy), but with this feature I can see everything and easily add a product with one click.

Once you find a product you would like to add to your wish list, just click the button below the
"Add to Cart" button.
Once you have your wish list complete, you can click on the <3 Wish List and grab your personal link to share with your families.

Oriental Trading sent me some of the products off my wish list and I want to share with you some of the things I received.  All opinions are my own.

I received this ballot box and glitter American flag stickers.  Since the presidential election is this year, I thought it would be more fun to put our votes in a box and receive a fun sticker after!  This will make it more hands on and close to the real experience their parent's will go through!

We do an All About Me type unit every year.  These multicultural crayons will be perfect for their self portraits.  Oriental Trading has lots of Crayola products too!

They also sell some room decor and they have partnered with Schoolgirl Style to give you more decorating ideas!  I usually track homework on a chart like this.  It has been on my long wish list for this school year, so I am glad I can check that off my list!

We also do a Community Helpers unit and these vests will be perfect for that unit.  I plan on adding them to our playtime centers too.  I got a mail carrier, fire fighter, doctor/vet/dentist, construction worker, and a police officer.
Our school doesn't start until after Labor Day, so this cutie helped model the vests! :)

My classroom does not have a rug.  Some days I don't mind it and some days I wish I had SOMETHING to mark everyone's spots.  I found these Centertime Seat Markers.  They are rubbery, so they will be easy to clean.  I can lay them out on the carpet during our carpet time or my kiddos can take a marker during center time.  I think this will be a great a reminder on where they need to sit and will help them remember to stay seated and work :)
The final thing I got were some tweezer/tongs.  I am planning on using them for some fine motor activities.  I will have my students pick up pom poms or beads with them.  These would also be great for science!

You can check out my wish list here!  What would you put on your wish list!?
Don't forget to start your own!

Back to School Freebies

Monday, August 8, 2016

I had all intentions of writing the last couple weeks, but nap time only lasts so long ;)
It is back to school and I want to make it easier for you with some easy prep freebies for the beginning of the year.  I like to use easy simple activities the first few weeks to help get everyone in a routine (aka- "Now it is our math time-let's trace our numbers!")

Arrival time-kids coming in, attendance, talking to parents, etc.  It can be a crazy time of the day.  This freebie includes EASY worksheets that your kiddos can come in and complete after they do their morning routine!

Here is a number activity that you can use during morning meeting or during math.  This includes number cards 1-20 and two different recording sheets.  One sheet your kiddos just trace and the other sheet the students write in the number.

At the end of the day, these sheets will come in handy.  Your kiddos will trace and draw how they are getting home from school.  For bus riders, have them write their bus number on their bus too.  Even if they don't remember at dismissal, it will help reinforce where they go.  The goal is they would remember making dismissal easier!

Hopefully you can use these in your classroom this upcoming year!
