Bouncy Bands

Thursday, September 28, 2017
I was sent a couple Bouncy Bands to use in my classroom.  These bands can be placed on desks or chairs.  They are great for those kiddos who have extra wiggles while they work.  It allows those kiddos to move while working without bothering those around them.
Each band comes with two connectors that will slide onto your chair or desks.
Setting up is a breeze. Simply place the band over each of the plastic support pipes.
When you're ready, simply stretch the band to put the pipes on the end of the chairs.
I used mine during our center time.  I put on on a chair by our Word Work center and one by our Computer center.  My kiddos loved them!  They were able to work quietly and still get movement in while they worked.
Bouncy Bands are even on Donor Choose!  If you start a campaign, you will get a $50 donation when you submit your first request for classroom supplies (Bouncy Bands included)!

Fun When You're Done

Friday, September 22, 2017
I started "Fun When You're Done" a long time ago.  It was a quick, quiet way for my class to find something to do right after they finished their work.  I usually had a tub with fun worksheets, old worksheets, or coloring sheets.  Yes, they loved redoing worksheets we had already done.
I wanted to share with you a "fun" sheet that you could use in your tub.
Here are some fun mazes from Education.com.  They come in different themes and get your kiddos thinking.

I have a fun Ocean themed maze to share with you!  Click HERE to access this fun FREE worksheet!
Become a deep sea diver as you make your way through this ocean themed maze! This printable from Education.com is just one of many educational resources for Kindergartners.

Tub Time

Sunday, September 10, 2017
I was all set to jump on the "Morning Tubs" bandwagon, but then the school year started and I went back to morning work.  My only reason is breakfast.  At my school every student receives breakfast for free and I am afraid if I put out Morning Tubs they will skip breakfast to play instead.
However, I have managed to put these tubs out at a different time during the day.  A first grade teacher called her tubs "Tub Time", so I stole that name.  Now I don't have to put them out in the morning, if I end up changing my mind on the morning.

Right now, after my kiddos finish their handwriting, I let them pick a tub to play with until most of the class is finished.  I LOVE it!  It gives my kiddos free time and if that scares you, most of the "toys" I have out are fun STEM activities or building type activities.
Check them out!

Like I said, a lot of the things I put out are building activities.  These connecting shapes were a huge hit this last week!

These cool connectors are as cool as their name.  My kiddos loved building towers.

These pipe connectors comes with a big board to use.  I usually have 3 kiddos per tub, but for this one I have two.

This last one reminds me of tinker toys!  This wheel building kit comes with 30 wheels and 36 sticks, so I would get two sets!  And the price will allow you to get two!
