Color Matching Sprinkles

Monday, June 24, 2019

We celebrated National Donut Day at the beginning of June with a morning of donuts and a fun color matching activity.
I drew a giant donut on a piece of poster board along with colored sprinkles (colored rectangles).

Then, I cut out rectangles out of the pieces of paper that matched the sprinkles on our donut.

We took the colored paper and matched them to the colored sprinkles on the donut.  We glued them, but you could reuse them by not gluing them on too.

For an added challenge, you could draw each sprinkle in a black marker and just write the color word on each sprinkle.  Your kiddos then would have to read the color word and match the sprinkles correctly.

Toddler Tuesday {Preschool Ideas} Week 11

Tuesday, January 8, 2019

It has been awhile since I shared some new ideas for you preschool classroom!
This one is a fun winter shape one!
I cut squares out of white paper and had my kiddo glue the squares in a circle on a piece of construction paper.

Once we had a "circle" we glued an orange triangle in the middle.
We added big circles for yes and smaller circles for the mouth!

Add rectangles for their arms and you've made the cutest snowman!
For older kiddos, you could add a writing piece and have them write about what happened that made their snowman melt.
A great book to add to this project would be "Snowmen at Night".

Toddler Tuesday {Preschool Activities}

Tuesday, October 2, 2018

I've decided to start a weekly (hopefully) post about fun preschool activities!
I have the opportunity to stay home with my three little kiddos and my oldest is early preschool age.  The teacher in me still tries to plan fun activities for him to do in between play groups and his own preschool.
Lately, he has been into construction EVERYTHING!  "Worker guys" or excavators he is in heaven whenever we should see these guys out working.

I found this ADORABLE file folder game from Tot Schooling!  It is a tool match!  I just laminated, cut, and added Velcro to create this fun matching game for my little guy!

We extended this fun matching game with a tool box coloring sheet!  I have made this editable, so you can add your kiddos name to it!

These activities would also be great for your Community Helpers unit when you learn about different jobs!
