I am linking up with Flying into First for her Let's Get Acquainted linky!  This week is tic tac toe!  Make a tic tac toe and answer the questions along the way!

Dream Vacation:

I love going on vacation!  Especially if it is on the beach!  I have always wanted to go to Aruba!
  Beaches in Aruba

My Favorite Subject to Teach:

We had four kindergarten teachers and we all took a subject to plan, then shared it with the other teachers.  I planned math and I loved it!  I love making it fun and finding things to do engage my kiddos as we learn a topic.  One of my favorite lessons was when we played musical chairs to learn about subtracting!

Favorite College Memory:

I went to UW-Green Bay and LOVED every second of it!  I think my favorite memory was meeting and spending time with friends!  I met so many people and some of my closest friends actually lived so close to my hometown!

Starting tomorrow there will be NO Google Reader!  Switch over to Bloglovin' and don't forget to follow me!  I am having a giveaway to celebrate the move to Bloglovin'!

July Currently!

Saturday, June 29, 2013
I can't believe July is around the corner!  Where did June go!?  I am linking up with Farley for her July Currently!

Listening-  House Hunters to be exact!  We are itching to move and watching House Hunters always makes us wants to move!

Loving- SUMMER!  If you have been following, you know my charter school was moving school buildings and the district was taking over our building!  It was complete craziness!  WELL...I signed my contract yesterday to work in the district!!  I am soo happy!  I can enjoy the rest of summer now and not worry about where I am teaching next year!

Thinking- I literally only have taught one week of summer school and I am excited I do NOT have to teach next week!

Wanting-  It is almost July and I need to get my tan on... I will have all of next week to work on it.

Needing- The hubby and I are planning a one year anniversary trip in August and we need to book it soon!  We are headed to Mexico!

Tips, tricks, or hints- Actually use what you make on TpT!  So many people make things and never even use it in their classrooms.  I make things with my own kiddos in mind and am so excited others want to buy and use those things too!

Now it is your turn to link up! :)

Don't forget to enter my Bloglovin' Giveaway!! :)

Summer School and a Bloglovin' Giveaway!!

Wednesday, June 26, 2013
My first week of summer is coming to an end...ONE MORE DAY!  Then, I have a week off before I am back at it again.  I don't teach summer school in the district I teach in during the school year, so it gets difficult planning weeks that are a Targeted Service class.  I make it work and we have a lot of fun!  This week I had a Dr. Seuss themed class (shh...don't say anything)!

To start off our week, I had the kiddos in my class make a Cat in the Hat watercolor painting.  They turned out so cute.  We turned them into a Cat in the Hat rhyming poster.

Each kiddo wrote rhyming words in white crayons, then painted over it to make it show up.  We cut out our cats and words then glued them to a piece of big construction paper!
Another fun game we played was pin the green eggs on the ham!  Each kiddo made their own egg and everyone got a chance to pin tape it to the plate of green ham.  Before a kiddo got to come up with their egg they had to spell a word that I picked out from the book, Green Eggs and Ham.  I wanted to put a literacy spin on it and figured why not have to earn your turn by spelling.  Of course if a kiddo couldn't spell a word we picked a new word.

I have more activities and another whole class I can talk about, but lets get on to the good stuff...A GIVEAWAY!
We all know Google Reader is saying goodbye on July 1st.  It is time to switch over to Bloglovin'!  In order to celebrate the switch a bunch of other bloggers and myself are having a giveaway!  Enter my giveaway to win any TWO products from my TpT store!  Then, hop over to the other bloggers that linked up below!  Good Luck! :)

Picture Book Linky Party

Sunday, June 23, 2013
Summer blogging=lots of linky parties!
I start teaching summer school tomorrow so I will have more teacher things to blog about!
I am linking up with DeAnne for her Picture Book Linky Party.  This week it is all about books for the first week of school!
My kiddos absolutely LOVED books this past year!  As soon as I started reading a book the whole class became so calm and quiet...SO I read A LOT of books! ;)
Here are a few great books for that first week of school!

Love this one!  Perfect for the first day because a lot of the little ones are missing their mom.  I always ask the question-Why are they going to school at night?  Opens up discussion about nocturnal animals! :)

Great for expectations of the classroom!

After we read this book, we talk about how we got ready for kindergarten!

Now it is your turn to link up and show off your favorite first week of school books!

Throwback Thursday!

Thursday, June 20, 2013
First, THANK YOU to everyone who has started following me on Bloglovin'!  July 1st is quickly approaching and by the sounds of it you won't have easy access to all your wonderful blogs.. aka no Google Reader and maybe Google Friend Connect!?  Anyway, congrats to Andrea!  My random number generator picked you!  Check your email!

Now onto the Throwback Thursday linky, hosted by Cara from The First Grade Parade!  I haven't been blogging as long as some of the fabulous bloggers out there, but one of my favorite activities I blogged about was our Dino Dig!  I think it is because I remember doing it when I was in school...like 20 years ago...haha!

*****************Post from April 30th, 2013**********************
We are learning about everything dinosaur this week!  Since our science lab was cancelled today, I had my kiddos go on their own "dino dig"!  We pretended to be paleontologists and dug up some "bones"!  In kindergarten terms, everyone had a chocolate chip cookie and used a toothpick to dig out the chocolate chips...aka dinosaur bones!  My kiddos LOVED it!
Our "Paleontologist supplies"!  That cute magnify glass is from Target dollar spot...obviously!

Hard at work diggin' those bones up!

Getting a closer look at the bones! SO cute!  Of course at the end we could eat everything!

Now it is your time to link up!

Five for Friday...Sunday Edition!

Sunday, June 16, 2013

I have been MIA and I am sorry!  Wednesday I flew out to DC for my brother in law's wedding!  What a quick but fun long weekend!

1.  Before I left we did these from Curls and a Smile.  The kiddos had a blast asking everyone to sign their books.

2..  Wedding time! The hubby was the best man.  The photographer kept calling us brother and sister...I may of used my teacher voice to let her know "WE ARE MARRIED!"

3..  We did a little site seeing.  We went to the Arlington Cemetery and the Air and Space Museum!
4. Help!  We took the Metro into the city and kept seeing these signs everywhere-what do they mean!?
5.  I already blogged about this, but it was super fun for my kids.  Beach ball game!  Whatever your hand is covering you have to think of a word that starts with that letter.

Beach Balls!

Monday, June 10, 2013
Today was B day!  We are doing a ABC countdown and technically tomorrow is A and would be our last day, but I started our countdown a couple days earlier because the last couple of days are busy!  We started with Z and worked backwards which was fun!  Today we played a fun beach ball game!

I have a bunch of random beach balls, so I took one of those and wrote letters all over it!

Then the kids tossed the beach ball to each other in the circle.

My kiddos would carefully catch and look at the letters their hands were covering. They would then pick one of those letters and say a word that starts with that letter.
We had such a fun day and even got outside to blow some bubbles! :)

ORGANIZE!

Sunday, June 9, 2013
I feel like I have not blogged in so long!  School has been crazy!  Not the kids just the actual school...  We have exactly 4 days left of school and I can't even tell you where I will be teaching next year, crazy.  My current school needs to move, but they are still finalizing where to move and it seems like we will never figure it out!  My mind has been half thinking about my school drama and half thinking how excited I am to leave for DC on Wednesday!  My kiddos will have their first sub of the year on their last day of school...ah!
Ok, ok the title of this post was "ORGANIZE!" so lets get to it!  I have been obsessed with these accordion organizers since the beginning of the year when I used them to organize my word wall cards.  Thank you Target dollar section!

Since I am moving schools ( I think...) I have been cleaning and organizing like a mad woman.  I always think I am so organized until I am packing and realizing I am not.  I am tired of all my Ziploc baggies, so I bought more accordion organizers and put different pocket chart activities in each organizer.
I bought all 5 patterns they had at Target and organized them into different topics: science, math, sentence activities and literacy.
I labeled them by theme.

Neat, organized, and CUTE!

How do you organize all the flashcards and game cards you have in your classroom?

Review Math Centers

Tuesday, June 4, 2013
Better late than never!  Here are my math centers for the week.  They are all review.  Most we have done before, but my kiddos love them so why not do them again!

I have another one but of course never took a picture of it!  I will explain instead.  I took a pipe cleaner and put a number sticker on the top.  My kiddos strung beads on the pipe cleaner to match the number on the top.  Here is a picture that I found online of what they look like!
